The Library of Congress (LC) received a $3 million gift from Google to help LC begin building a World Digital Library. One of the first agreements is with the National Library of Egypt, to digitize documents of Islamic science from the 10th century. Google has a beta version of the US Digital Books project, which is rather impressive.
